The Bailiwick of Jersey, a British Crown Dependency, is part of the Channel Islands off the coast of Normandy, France. It includes two groups of small islands; Alter Domus’ office is in the capital city of St. Helier on the island of Jersey. The Bailiwick of Jersey is not part of the U.K., but rather a separate possession of the Crown. It belongs to the Common Travel Area. Its official languages are English and French; its official currency is the pound sterling (GBP). Jersey is not a part of the European Union but has a special relationship with it, being treated as part of the European Community for the purposes of free trade in goods.
