Dean Schaffer
Dean Schaffer is Managing Director, North America.
Based in New York, Dean has over 20 years of experience in the financial industry. He joined Alter Domus through its acquisition of Investors Economic Assurance (IEA), a global leader in providing waterfall and carried interest solutions to the alternative investment industry.
Prior to joining Alter Domus, Dean served as President at IEA for more than three years, where he was focused on business development and strategic initiatives.
Prior to joining IEA, Dean spent over 13 years in the private equity industry. Most recently he was a partner at a New York-based private equity firm. His responsibilities included, but were not limited to, deal sourcing, portfolio management, and managing relationships with Limited Partners, co-investors, and debt providers. Dean has served on a number of boards with responsibilities including financial management, HR, vendor relationships and operations.
Dean started his career at a strategic consulting firm serving Fortune 500 companies, where he led strategy and research engagements in North America, South America and Europe in various industries.
Dean received his Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.), Finance, Management from New York University’s Leonard N. Stern School of Business, and his Bachelor’s in Political Science from University of Pennsylvania.
