Sensus Issue 6 Article 5 - Market News Header

As we enter a new year, we would like to reflect on some of the major accomplishments Alter Domus was recognized for over the past twelve months. Similar to 2020, 2021 was a year defined by unpredictability and challenges, making us even prouder of the monumental growth we witnessed and the commitment, drive, and exceptional client focus of our teams.

Throughout the year, we welcomed a wealth new clients and 1,200 new employees, grew our global footprint to more than 36 offices in 21 jurisdictions, refined our service offering with a wealth of new innovative technology and expertise, and for the first time in our history, exceeded $1 trillion assets under administration.

Our strong performance did not go unnoticed and was recognized across the market, most notably through an array of prestigious market leadership awards. We have created a summary of the major awards Alter Domus won in 2021 below. Click on the respective links to learn more about the individual awards.

The Drawdown’s Private Equity Service Provider Awards – We kicked off the year by being awarded the “Fund Administration Over $50bn in Total Assets Under Administration” award at The Drawdown’s Private Equity Service Provider Awards in January 2021. The award recognizes large private equity administrators that have demonstrated strong performance across business and client growth, innovation, and client servicing. Hailed as one of the most prestigious private equity awards in Europe, the Drawdown’s Private Equity Service Provider Awards are awarded through a rigorous judging process based on the views of a panel of leading private equity COOs, CFOs, CCOs, and CTOs.

Private Equity Wire European Awards 2021 – Later in March, Private Equity Wire recognized Alter Domus for its excellence and leadership in servicing private equity fund managers in Europe by awarding us the “Best Fund Administrator for GPs with Assets over $30bn.” Voted for by private equity practitioners themselves, the Private Equity Wire Awards reflect market sentiment with real authenticity and are a valuable mark of recognition in a highly competitive industry.

Preqin’s Service Providers Alternative Assets Report – In addition to the industry awards listed above, Alter Domus’ impressive performance in 2021 was noted in Preqin’s Service Providers in Alternative Assets Report. The highly valued and respected industry report placed Alter Domus in the top position in five different categories. Most significantly, Preqin named Alter Domus as the leading fund administrator serving:

  • Private capital funds in the market (as of July 2021)
  • Private capital funds closed globally between 2020 and H1 2021 ($100-500m)
  • Private capital funds closed in Europe between 2021 and H1 2021

This 2021 ranking marked a significant improvement to Alter Domus’ positioning in the 2020 report, where we earned a top position in seven categories. These improved rankings validate the success we have had in improving and refining our solutions throughout the year.
