Hong Kong Gains Traction Among Asian Investors
SHARE
In an exclusive report by Global Fund Media, Johnson Har, Head of Hong Kong at Alter Domus, and Richard Jiangdong Hu, Managing Director at Everbright Overseas Infrastructure Investment Fund, discuss the factors driving Asian investors’ increasing capital allocations in Hong Kong.
Johnson and Richard explore Hong Kong’s appeal as a financial jurisdiction, citing that recently updated fund regimes and regulations have captured the interest of global investors who are now increasingly considering domiciling their funds in Hong Kong. Next to discussing best practices, the two also consider outsourcing and how it can benefit the performance of alternative funds.
“We're continuing to see very strong momentum in Hong Kong. All in all, the industry looks very healthy from a Hong Kong perspective and the outlook for new managers and GPs setting up here is strong. We are also seeing global managers entering the Hong Kong market as well as a fairly healthy flow of mainland China asset management companies setting up a Hong Kong team or setting up private structures which will require administrators to provide a cross-jurisdictional service,” explains Johnson Har.
