Speaking with Real Deals, James McEvoy, Country Executive Ireland, and Ross McCann, Head of Fund Services Ireland, share their thoughts on the forces driving the demand to domicile private equity funds in Ireland.

The recent amendment to the Irish ILP is said to supplement Ireland’s longstanding position as a fund domicile defined by expertise and comprehensive infrastructure. Ross highlights that while this new structuring tool is advantageous, selecting the right fund administrator is critical to success, commenting, “Real value is achieved when the administrator fully understands and has deep expertise in the chosen asset class. So, administrators who are aligned to the manager’s sector can bring the best fit in terms of experience, understanding, systems and processes to get the right result.”
